There are a lot of events which occurred during the many hundred years Parlington was the seat of the Gascoigne family. In this section I offer some of the stories I found interesting. The events have been transcribed as fictional because they use only the underlying facts which have been threaded into a meaningful narrative.
The first story, “The Fraud” deals with the forgery of Colonel Gascoigne’s signature to perpetrate a bank fraud on two of the colonel’s accounts. One with Drummond’s Bank in London and the second with Beckett’s Bank in Leeds.
