Trees, We Must Protect Them

I love trees! whenever I am in an area where there is a predominance of trees I take the opportunity to photograph them, I say photograph rather than snap, because I hope to get a considered view. The shot in this post is one such opportunity I seized whilst visiting Tewkesbury Abbey earlier this week, it’s a great tree, and if you are ever inclined to visit Tewkesbury I recommend a visit to the Abbey and the delightful tree laden grounds.

This post was inspired by the terrible news that the UK population of Ash trees is threatened by a virus, if we spent less money on stupid wind-farms and looked after the environment, in a practical and responsible way, events such as the virus might be picked up earlier and the time to respond, be effective. Don’t forget trees like all our plant species love carbon dioxide, and the present level [approx 400/1,000,000 ppm] in the Holocene, despite all our industrial output, is well down on earlier epochs.
