From time to time it is worth looking up the books that Google is transcribing for the public good, this is an extract from the Farmers Magazine 1863, and it describes the seventh annual tenants sheep show held at Parlington on 1st May of that year. At the foot of the article is a reference to around sixty of the participants congregating at the White Swan for dinner, [The Swan Hotel as it is known today, which is still a popular venue, some 150 years later!]
